february 2009...[an overview]
The last 2 weeks in February, I was sick. Translation: laundry piled up high, vacuuming was put on the backburner, boredom/cabin fever hit an all-time high, and dinner very commonly consisted of gross Kraft Dinner, sandwiches, or whatever I coached Mark how to make. Basically, nothing got done, and if it did, it was the bare minimum. However, while everyone's kids were sick, mine stayed quite healthy. That's something I've always been blessed with. My kids are pretty good at not getting sick. But when they do get sick, they get hit pretty hard. Luckily, the girls have inherited my OCD tendencies for handwashing and sanitation...
So what did we spend our month doing?!?

Mark spent a lot of time hitting up the anatomy flashcards he bought in January...and I have been his handy study-buddy...good thing he has a wife that is very familiar with all that stuff (it's nice when my degree comes in handy--seeing as I don't use it to make me any money ;)

(who you looking at?)
"Parent Watch Day" during the girls' ballet class...this picture was taken during an attempt to be inconspicuous. The girls sometimes get lazy and shy when we get to come to their class to take a peek at their progress...I try not to be too disappointed...the stage-mom/photographer in me wants to tell them to staighten-up their posture, smile, and "look alive..."
(notice the bandaid on Maria's forehead...she has been picking at the scabs from her unfortunate birthmark...so annoying)

Almost everyday, we plug away at the ABCs and the 1-2-3s in preparation for Kindergarten...Mark says that if he could conjure up a mental picture of me as a child, this would be it (see above picture of Diana posing with her workbook).

I love the stage mom in you. I hope you feel better. Cabin fever is the worst when you don't feel god enough to do anything about it. :(
