counting down to christmas...

What have we been up to?

Writing letters to Santa, of course!

Decorations galore! (I finally get to put up my Willow Tree Nativity...been waiting for years to do this!)

Baking goodies and receiving goodies, too ;)
The treats seen here were given to us by the lovely YW in our ward! I miss being in YW!
Plus we all loved the Charlie Brown-themed Gingerbread house...with marshmallow Snoopy on the roof! It was a hit! (although, thumbs down for the sugar rush before bedtime, oh well)

Loving, loving, and more loving of baby T...he's popular! His sisters and brother beg to hold him numerous times each day. And, sometimes, just sometimes, baby T gets a little overwhelmed by all the love and starts crying... he looks like a little doll, don't you think?

And photosessions and more photosessions! (please, mom, stop taking pictures! we are your children, not your models :) Well, my daughters are quite content to have their picture taken. Little 20 month old boys are not so inclined...however, my newborn babe doesn't know the difference :)

***I get asked many times..."how do you guys do it?" (implying, "how in the world do you stay sane with 4 little kids?!?!)
I wish I could be more insightful, and I probably would be if I weren't so sleep deprived... a short, quick answer is that you remember that they are only little once, so you have to enjoy them and look past the spills, the tantrums, the laundry, the grocery bill, the bad attitudes, the sleepless nights, etc.
The other day at Deseret Book, I picked up an illustrated copy of "An Angel to Watch Over Me," by Sally DeFord. She wrote the song with the same title and it was made into a short, children's illustrated book. Anyway, within the first few seconds, I was mercilessly bawling. If you haven't heard the song, you should. A sample is on her website, I believe. And when you hear the song, just imagine the sweet and tender illustrated images that would go along with the lyrics.
I (and when I say I, I mean WE) may go crazy and feel exhausted and (super) annoyed at times, but we love the children we have been blessed with and if it means sacrificing what may seem like more than we would care to sacrifice, in the end, I believe that we will look back and realize that we learned more about humility and selflessness and unconditional love than we would have otherwise. Plus, we are going to be okay...grandma, grandpa, aunts, and uncles are more than willing to step in and take over every now and then!
