It's a LOVE story

Just in time for Valentine's Day...

I always get a little chuckle and a kick out of my daughters' fascination over how Mark and I "fell in love and got married." You know that in their world, the princess always marries the prince and their story is always a sweet one. I love their sweet & innocent perspective. I'm glad they can look at their parents and see a real life example of "true love" ;)
And I love that the little ones are still in that stage... you know, the one where they cheer their parents on so they can kiss and then get all excited, giggly, and then ever-so-quickly show the "Eww" face, cuz it is, afterall, their parents kissing! (hahaha...)

So on one such occasion when my youngest daughter, Maria, asked me to retell our love story while I was making lunch, she quickly changed her mind and then informed me that she could probably give me one of her many versions. After all, she had heard the details plenty of times. Sometimes she recounted straight facts, other times she focused on the sheer romance factor, and sometimes it was a mix of both. I was eager to know how she would interpret it this time around. She said something like this:

"I know how you got married. You went on a mission and daddy went on a mission and you met and then you went on a date and then you went to the temple and got married!"

Um...yeah...kind of.... it certainly did happen rather fast (I guess you could ask me if you want more details!)

But, oh, she was so proud of herself! She's a little helpless romantic at heart that little girl! What would we do without our helpless little romantic? She adds sweetness to our lives!

And she even does her own posing--with flowers in her hair and in her favorite fairy dress-up dress.
