capturing all those little moments.....
as you can see, tak is anxious to walk. to stand. to be as mobile as his sisters. during my attempt to take pictures of him in his ninja costume, i had such a hard time getting him to sit still without crawling away, that the only time he was at least somewhat still was when i propped him up against this chair....and he LOVED it...he reminds me of a little man...and yet he's still tiny in my eyes...so eager to be a big boy!!!
so a few MONTHS ago, i decided to take advantage of the nice natural light streaming through our front window and practice using my camera on all-manual (a.k.a NOT automatic) settings...yeah, so i'm not so good at being able to perfectly adjust my settings while trying to position my 3 little ones the way i wanted them to...so this is the best picture that has come out of it...fun memories...in this capture, diana was trying to remind mimi to smile and tak was contemplating whether or not he was going to attempt to reach for my camera lens...ah...not a technically perfect photo, but, hey, it was life. unscripted :)
diana sometimes reminds me of, well, ME...scary, i know. she is very structured and organized, more so than any other 4 year-old i know. she likes to know that her day is planned out and that she is prepared in advance...and she makes time every day to focus on her art...she likes to mix things up a bit. Sometimes she prefers to use her markers, sometimes she's crazy about the crayons. Sometimes it's all about the Princess coloring books, sometimes it's time to bust out the good ol' Barbie coloring book. And if the ocassion calls for it...or if she happens to want to copy what she sees me do...she asks for construction paper, a glue stick, scissors, markers, and stickers (and she lists all those things by memory) and then she looks at me and says, "Mom, what should we make?" and then i must come up with a fun, new idea!
