grandma came for 2 weeks!
the girls were so excited to be spoiled with attention by having grandma over for 2 whole weeks! grandma was able to tag along and be reminded about what life with little kids is like...plus, she was able to celebrate Tak's first birthday and Easter with us! here are a few random pictures.
first, a word about Mucho Burrito. we treated grandma to a "close-to-the-real-thing-but-still-not-quite-the-same-but-that's-okay-cuz-we're-really-far-north-up-here-in-alberta" --burrito at Mucho Burrito. so very good. my mouth waters everytime i think about the food and even as i write this.

for easter, grandma helped us create a beautifully themed menu of salmon and mango sauce. we told the kids that we were eating fish just like Jesus did...and they totally ate it with much excitement! we also had a mini easter egg hunt. we placed small objects and scriptures all representing something from the easter story inside 12 colored eggs and then reviewed the story with them. it was so fun and special, so we're definitely going to make it a tradition. it was tender to watch the girls begin to assemble the phrases and the understanding of who the Savior is and the real purpose of the easter season.

You are so great to keep Jesus in the Easter season. Easter seems so under-celebrated. I think I'm going to steal your ideas for next year.
